Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
American performer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Notable Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
