Per new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was assisting Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other inmates, she was provided directions about instructing her associates to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the warden, who would provide them to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Context and Developments

Recently, reports surfaced that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or representatives have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
