Manchester United Set to Sign German Striker Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are finalising completing the signing for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Acquisition for United
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her deal, has been a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. This signing is viewed as a marquee signing for the Women’s Super League side.
Her exit from Bayern has been anticipated since she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans after a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading strikers. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen the Forward Line
The experienced striker's arrival is expected to provide a significant uplift to United’s attacking options. She has been remarkably reliable with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven consecutive seasons, including the most recent campaign, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing the German international comes at a time when the club seem to be gathering momentum.

- The new deal for Japan playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, a popular figure since joining in 2023.
On Miyazawa’s new deal, a club official stated: “Miyazawa is now a vital part to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and skill allows her and the team to control and dictate play from the middle of the park.”
